My OA Moment, Bathroom Note

What was an ordinary corporate day that I was not necessarily looking forward too—turned into an Ordinarily Amazing moment which led to a life decision.

I had been pondering a huge life decision. Leaving a very successful corporate career to follow an entrepreneur dream. I was in “Analysis Paralysis”. I was asking God to show me signs. That morning, I was praying for clarity, strength and direction. My greatest fear was taking a huge financial risk. I was so conservative when it came to money.

I had a Board meeting all day. The location of the Board meeting was on a completely different floor than our regular offices. There was a bathroom off to the side that was hardly ever used. I was one of two females in the Board meeting. My female co-executive had just taken a bathroom break and was coming out as I was going in. I was washing my hands as I suddenly noticed a crumbled piece of paper with a few coins on top of it to the side of the sink. Like someone had taken it out of their pocket to wash their hands. Something made me look more closely at the handwritten note on the paper. I read, “With God on my side, I have the strength to follow my dreams. I have the faith that all my needs will be taken care of and I have the direction for my life. Trust in God. Trust in myself and anything is possible.” It took me a moment to grasp the message. I felt it was directed at me at that exact time I needed and directly from above. I smiled then took the piece of paper with the coins and returned to the Board meeting. My logical brain started kicking in and I thought maybe my female co-executive accidentally left it. The next group break, I approached her and asked her. “No,” she answered. I replied, “You noticed the note lying next to the sink didn’t you?” “No, there was no note,” she said.

The power of the message intended for me only hit me at that “OA” moment.
