An OA Stranger, Wise Advice In Passing
I was in the waiting room of my chiropractor’s office, enjoying the moment of solitude and having no interest in casual conversation with a stranger. However, he wasn’t going to give up. So I politely answered his questions about my corporate job, my kids, etc. Then he suggested I should remember to take some time for myself and that maybe I would find yoga to be a great option. I informed him with a little irritation that I was a yoga teacher and taught on Wednesday nights down the street. He replied, “It sounds like you are a teacher or a giver in every aspect of your life. You need to choose to be a student in order to refill your soul.” He walked away before I could comment. After that moment, I quit teaching yoga and vowed to only be a yoga student for the rest of my life.
